Description

An original March 1930 issue of Harper’s Bazaar filled with Art Deco-era fashion, illustration, beauty advertising, and literary content.

This substantial 203-page issue offers a fascinating view of fashion and culture at the beginning of the 1930s. Early spring fashions and cosmetics are featured throughout, accompanied by beautifully designed period advertisements and illustrations. Literary content includes Part II of W. Somerset Maugham’s Cakes and Ale.

This was formerly part of the Peoria, Illinois, public library collection. The front cover has a library label and stamp, bends, tears, edge losses, and extensive handling wear. The back cover is missing. Tape was added along the spine area to help secure the outer pages. The first few pages and final page have heavier edge wear similar to the cover.

The interior is substantially better preserved than the covers. All 203 pages are present, readable, and filled with beautiful content. Interior pages show some foxing and generally light age-related and handling wear.
