Vintage Faux Essex Crystal Horse Brooch Yellow Gold Filled – Reverse Carved and Painted – Equestrian Jewelry
This wonderful faux Essex glass equestrian motif brooch is in excellent condition. It is well-made, signed, and marked.
The glass cabochon is made of pressed glass. The reverse is then hand painted and set against a mother of pearl background. True Essex Crystal is made in a similar manner. However, it is hand-carved natural quartz crystal and not molded glass.
This brooch is very well made. The glass cabochon is of high quality, and the image is well-defined and well-painted.
The oval glass cabochon measures 13/16 inches (21mm) by 5/8 inches (16mm).
The wirework brooch measures 2 5/16 (59mm) long.
It can be worn as a brooch or tie brooch.
