Description

This handsome antique chain dates to the Late Victorian era and showcases a thoughtful combination of traditional link styles. The outer sections feature the classic long-and-short (end-to-end) configuration, while the center section is formed by a substantial curb chain with partially textured links that give a subtly carved or repoussé effect.

The chain is well made and in excellent antique condition. The dog clasp functions securely. There is a slight loss of gold on the toggle bar consistent with age and regular use, appropriate for a chain now over 120 years old. No maker’s mark is present; the piece has been carefully tested.

This versatile length allows the chain to be worn in multiple ways — traditionally with a pocket watch, combined with another chain to create a longer necklace, or wrapped twice around the wrist as a bracelet.
