A remarkable circa 1940s family locket preserving four original photographs, including a young man in military uniform. Closed, it presents as a richly detailed round sterling silver locket. When opened, four framed photographs unfold into a clover-like arrangement, creating a miniature family album.
The cover is deeply ornamented with raised forget-me-not flowers, traditionally associated with remembrance and enduring affection. A machine-turned pattern decorates the reverse.
All four interior frames retain their original bezels. The photographs currently inside appear to be original to the locket and are included. They may be carefully replaced with personal photographs if desired.
A substantial rope chain supports the locket and closes with a custom box clasp marked “Sterling.” No maker’s mark was found. The photographs, construction, and clasp style are consistent with the 1940s, making this a compelling WWII-era keepsake.
Excellent vintage condition. The locket opens and closes smoothly and securely, the expanding mechanism operates reliably, and all four photograph frames are complete. The chain and clasp are also in excellent condition.
