A glowing teardrop opal creates the unexpected focal point of this asymmetrical sterling silver band. Approximately 16 marcasites surround it in contrasting patterns: eight small round stones curve around the bezel while eight square pyramid-cut stones form two sharply geometric rows.
Likely dating to the 1990s, the ring is marked “925” with an unidentified maker’s mark. The opal is solid rather than a doublet or triplet; natural or lab-created origin is undetermined. Excellent vintage condition with all stones present and secure, light wear, and no damage or repairs.
- Opal: 5/16 × 3/16 inch (8 × 5mm)
- Marcasites: Approximately 16, channel and bead set
- Setting: 5/16 inch (8mm) wide
- Band: 3.5mm wide
- Size: 7
- Weight: 3.7 grams
Substantial enough to wear alone, its low profile also works well in a ring stack.
