Description

An elegant Art Deco lavalier necklace dating to approximately the 1920s–1930s. Delicate darkened chain is punctuated by graduated faux pearl stations, leading to a graceful Y-shaped drop and a dimensional faceted crystal pendant.

The clear crystal is cut as an inverted teardrop, creating lively reflections as it moves. Its restrained palette and elongated silhouette capture the lightness and geometry of the Art Deco period. At 20 1/2 inches, the necklace falls beautifully below the collarbone and would also make an enchanting bridal necklace.

  • Length: 20 1/2 inches
  • Chain width: approximately 1mm
  • Crystal: 1 inch (24mm) tall including the bail
  • Crystal width: 3/4 inch (19mm)
  • Faux pearls: approximately 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch
  • Weight: 14.4 grams
  • Secure spring-ring clasp

The delicate chain is unmarked and described conservatively as silver-tone metal. The spring-ring clasp has acquired a warmer gold-toned patina.

Excellent antique condition. The faceted crystal and faux pearls are exceptionally well preserved, the chain and connections are intact, and the spring-ring clasp closes securely. Light patina is consistent with age.
