Georgian, Pre 1837
There is so much to talk about this gorgeous necklace I don't know where to start! Made in 800 Silver, the open heart locket holds a hand drawn scene depicting a young angel child holding a ribbon, the other end of the ribbon is held by a swallow bird at its beak. The locket frame is solid gold. Back of the heart pendant is closed off.
This lavalier necklace center is a bow, the heart drops from the center. Both the bow and locket frame are adorned with old Marcasite stones, punctuated by Peridot color paste stones. The top center stone on the elaborate heart frame is adorned by a single Ruby colored glass paste stone.
Necklace measures 17" long. Center is almost 1 3/4" tall overall by 1 1/2" at the widest point, the tips of the bow.
Chain is soldered and original to the necklace but clasp is a replacement. There are no marks on the pendant.
Condition is very good considering this necklace is almost 200 years old. Some wear to the raised glass that covers the drawing. Lovely patina. One tiny Marcasite is chipped and one tinier one is missing. Not obvious when worn, almost not visible to the naked eye.
This information is intended to help you understand our sizing methods.
Please note many small measurements are in millimeters. It is a Jewelry Industry standard for accuracy.
You can download and print the Ring Sizing Chart. Make sure to follow the directions closely for best accuracy. Most rings can be sized unless otherwise noted. Cost of sizing is not included, please inquire with ring information and size required for an estimate.
Our model's hand is approximately 5" wide or 12 cm as seen in this image:
We measure bracelets based on their wearable length, not the actual length. We do this because chunky bracelets will have a smaller wearable length than the actual length as the thickness of the bracelet reduces the internal measurement. If at any time you would like the actual length and is not in the description, please feel free to contact us.
