Art Deco, 1920s to 1930s
Gorgeous and unusual old Chinese genuine Tortoise shell set of bangles with original box.
A band of silver with gold overlay is set on each bangle and adorned with natural stones. Stones are Jade, Chrysoprase, Coral and Tourmaline. One Coral stone is missing and can be easily replaced. The metal has darkened for lack of cleaning and has be left alone. Tortoise is delicate, harsh metal cleaning liquids could adversely affect it.
The metal bands are adorned with tiny florets, each hand made of wire. The whole piece is hand made.
Measurements are 12mm wide (almost 1/2"), 8 1/4" inside circumference and 2 5/8" inside diameter. Please keep in mind these bangles do not have clasps and must slip over the knuckle area of your hands.
Other than the missing Coral cabochon, they are in very good condition. There is a very slight shrinkage to the Tortoise but there are no cracks or repairs and the Tortoise shell is supple. Estimated date 1900s to 1920s.

We measure bracelets based on their wearable length, not the actual length. We do this because chunky bracelets will have a smaller wearable length than the actual length as the thickness of the bracelet reduces the internal measurement. If at any time you would like the actual length and is not in the description, please feel free to contact us.
