Antique Medal Star and Crown

This beautifully handmade antique medal is still in its original leather presentation folder. It is articulated and composed or a crown, a center bar with CLV enameled initials and a large five-pointed star as the drop. The enamel is red, white and blue.

The leather pouch is in good condition with some loss on the edges due to being folded for so many years. It also has a functioning clasp. Inside you will find, embossed in gold, "John B. Murphy, 37 & 39 Maiden Lane, N.Y." It has a purple lining, the star rests on red silk ribbon. It' quite striking

Overall measurements are 4 1/4" long by 2" across the star.

The back of the medal needs polishing. We did not want to remove it from the folder as the red silk ribbon is somewhat delicate. It's so old...
