The beautiful rose-y gold of this antique Victorian bangle bracelet is nicely contrasted by the emerald color glass stones set in a center row. The stones are made of uranium or vaseline glass, which iridesces under black light. Each stone is bezel within a helix pattern finished by graduated raised dots.
It fits wrists up to 6.5" when closed. When opened it fits up to 7 1/4" so please make sure it can go over your hand.
Inside measurement: front to back 2" and 2 1/4" side to side.
The bangle is 5/16" wide and is 1/4" deep at the setting.
This Victorian bracelet is hinged. It slides apart to open. It is stamped inside the opening "Pat. App. for" indicating one of the first out of the maker's production. It is estimated to date from the 1890s.
It is in very good condition with some signs of wear consistent with age, a few light bumps on the back. No serious damage.
