Victorian, 1830s to 1900s
Absolutely gorgeous antique Victorian pinchbeck pendant earrings with hand chased pattern hat resembles wings. They are hollow and light weight, incredibly well made.
Earrings measure 2 1/2" long overall. They are almost 11/16" at the widest point. Each is 2mm thick with a drop 1/8" in diameter at the widest point.
Unmarked, estimated to date from the 1870's. It is in very good condition. One wire was re-soldered a very long time ago.
Pinchbeck is an alloy of Brass, Copper and Zinc invented by Christopher Pinchbeck in the 18th Century. It allowed for beautiful jewelry to be made with a more affordable price point. These pieces are highly sought after today.

We measure bracelets based on their wearable length, not the actual length. We do this because chunky bracelets will have a smaller wearable length than the actual length as the thickness of the bracelet reduces the internal measurement.
