Vintage, 1930s to 1980s
Pair of vintage Chinese Export Silver cuffs or bangle bracelets with intricate filigree and applied animal figures.
Each of the 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac represented by an animal, done in great detail. They are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. The filigree is very well made too, there is a lot of detail on these hand wrought bracelets.
Each cuff bracelet has an opening, so they are adjustable to an extent. At the moment they measure 2 3/8" (inside diameter). The width is 11/16" ant the border is a bit over 1/16". It is thicker where the figures are applied.
They are in excellent condition. Please note one has a darker patina than the other, I think one was worn more often, hence the lighter color. They are identical, as much as hand made things can be.
There are no markings or characters. They are Chinese Silver which has a Silver content. However, because coinage from other countries was often used, it is difficult to determine the exact Silver content. When tested, the range is around 800 Silver.
This information is intended to help you understand our sizing methods.
Please note many small measurements are in millimeters. It is a Jewelry Industry standard for accuracy.
You can download and print the Ring Sizing Chart. Make sure to follow the directions closely for best accuracy. Most rings can be sized unless otherwise noted. Cost of sizing is not included, please inquire with ring information and size required for an estimate.
Our model's hand is approximately 5" wide or 12 cm as seen in this image:
We measure bracelets based on their wearable length, not the actual length. We do this because chunky bracelets will have a smaller wearable length than the actual length as the thickness of the bracelet reduces the internal measurement. If at any time you would like the actual length and is not in the description, please feel free to contact us.
