Antique Memento Mori brooch in 10k Gold adorned with Talle D'Epargne black enamel and set with high round banded Agate cabochon. The locket in the back holds plaited hair.
Brooch measures 1 1/32" in diameter and is 5/8" deep at the center of the stone.
Banded Agate estimated diameter is 1/2", bezel set. Setting is framed by rope wire and slopes down to the edge. On the sloped area you will find the Greek key pattern in black enamel.
Finely plaited hair is encased into the brooch and covered with glass. It is in very good condition. The well crafted frame protects it well.
Weighs approximately 7.5 grams. Unmarked, carefully tested.Estimated to date from the 1860's.
In overall good condition but there is loss of enamel.
