Vintage, 1930s to 1980s
Exquisite, fairly large Opal pendant, set in 14k yellow gold. The bail is set with 2 brilliant cut Diamonds. The Opal is natural, not a doublet, bezel set with closed back. Gorgeous stone with great fire and color play. It displays red, green, blue and even lavender color play with two vertical white stripes. The color plays hide and seek and peaks through the spaces. It's beautiful.
Stone is free form, measures approximately 1" tall by 3/8" at the widest point.
The pendant is 1 3/8" long including the custom bail which is set with two bright round cut Diamonds with an estimated total weight of 4.5 points. One Diamond is 1.8mm in diameter, the lower one is 1.5mm. Set with closed back to protect the Opal gemstone.
Chain is 14k Gold, 18" long.
This is a custom piece, studio made. It is not signed or marked. Carefully tested. Overall weight is approximately 7.7 grams including the chain. ca 1980's.

We do this because chunky bracelets will have a smaller wearable length than the actual length as the thickness of the bracelet reduces the internal measurement.
