Antique Victorian to Edwardian telescoping mechanical pencil in 14k Gold.
Pencil expands to full size when you hold the textured area and pull away from the top. To recoil the pencil, gently hold the area that holds the graphite and pull up. It's genius plus you can wear it on a watch chain or necklace.
Measures are approximately 3 3/8" including the loop when extended.
When recoiled it is a petite 2" long.
It is 1/4" in diameter at the center and 5/16" in diameter at the top.
Marked 14k and engraved with the initials J.W.H..
Maker's mark is M inside a rectangle. Maker not identified.
In excellent condition, estimated to date from the 1910's.
Included is an antique box of Wearever refill leads which still contains 3 full length ones for your delight.
You can actually start using this pencil the day you receive it. It comes with an additional lead in place.

We measure bracelets based on their wearable length, not the actual length. We do this because chunky bracelets will have a smaller wearable length than the actual length as the thickness of the bracelet reduces the internal measurement.
