Art Deco, 1920s to 1930s

Albert Flamand Galalith Terrier Dog Chrome Cuff Bracelet

Extremely rare true Art Deco era cuff bracelet by Albert Flamand, Paris, France. The cuff itself is metal and chrome plated. The adorable terrier puppy dog is French bakelite. It has a red collar attached to an independent chain, the eye is made of poured glass, and red tongue. It is just the most adorable thing and very nicely carved.

The cuff is 1 3/16" wide or 30mm. The bracelet is somewhat adjustable, it is set at 6 1/4" (plus the 1 1/16" opening). It can be gently opened to increase the size.

Fully hallmarked "Depose, Made in France" and stamped with Albert Flamand's mark.

The interesting thing about of Galalith, erroneously dubbed French Bakelite. It is a resin made from Casein, derived from milk and originally invented in Germany.
