Victorian Silver Love Token Charm Engraved "ALEX"

Interest Free Financing
Only 1 available

Such a darling token of love made for Alex. It was made from a coin, the obverse depicts Queen Victoria, probably a 3 pence coin. The practice of making jewelry from coins was so prevalent at one time, it was outlawed for a while. Refined silver was scarce, coins not so much, so coins were frequently used.

The charm is really beautiful, with skilfully hand engraved name and details.

It measures 5/8" in diameter not including the ring on the top.

In excellent condition, ca 1880s.

We added a split ring (like a keychain) to make it easier to add to a charm necklace or bracelet.
