This is a beautiful Victorian signet ring set with a Greco-Roman motif intaglio. The carving is very nicely done and the setting shoulders are all hand engraved. The setting back is closed, something you often see in Victorian rings. The intaglio depicts a Greco-Roman centurion, representing Mars, the god of war, of getting things done, of having the impetus to take action.

The setting is 11/16" North-South by 1/2" East-West.

The ring size is 7.75 US, it can be sized. Please inquire with the desired size.

This gorgeous intaglio signet ring has no marks. Carefully tested to verify the silver content as sterling. It is in excellent condition with light wear and a lovely patina that enhances its fine details. Estimated to date from the 1890's.
