Antique 14k Gold Victorian Heart Locket Necklace
A gorgeous antique 14k gold Victorian heart locket necklace set with a mine-cut diamond at the center. The locket is 13/16″ tall, not including the bail and ring on the top. It is 1/8″ deep.
A row of tiny gold beads frames the cover. The sparkly diamond is set at the center of a carved starburst. The reverse side is hand engraved with a lovely flower.
The locket will hold two photos or a lock of hair. There are no clear covers for the photos. They are held by pressure. Cut the photos slightly larger than the opening; pressure will do the rest.
The chain is beautiful, a hefty but delicate flat oval link measuring 18″ long. It is solid 14k gold.
Neither the chain nor the locket is marked. Each was carefully tested.
The overall approximate weight of the necklace, including the locket, is 6.8 grams.
The condition is very good, considering the locket is over 140 years old. There is a small indentation on the back caused by closing the locket over all these years and a tiny little indentation on the cover.
The chain is newer, probably 1930s, and in excellent condition.
