Description
A darling 18k gold and sterling silver ring. This style used to be called a cigar band ring due to the fact they are shaped as an old cigar band would. The center is wider than the rest of the band.
The three animal shapes are cut out from 18k gold and applied against the hand-hammered sterling silver band. The first is a cat, followed by two birds. The last bird could be an aquatic bird, as it appears to be swimming.
The ring band is 11mm or 7/16 inches wide at the center. It steps down to 8mm or 5/16 inches.
The back of the band is open, and the size of this ring is somewhat adjustable. It is set at 6 US at the moment. I would say size 7 US is the maximum. It can be made smaller down to 5 without overlapping, more if you are okay with the doubled band.
The marks are on the inside of the shank, 18k and 925. Carefully tested, it weighs approximately 2.7 grams.
The images are sweet and innocent on this vintage 18k gold sterling silver Inca ring. Likely made in Peru as a souvenir in the 1970s.
This is an unusual ring that is versatile. You can change which finger to wear it on by adjusting the size.
In excellent condition, it can be polished further if desired. The best way to keep it bright is to wear it.
