A 1934 bronze commemorative medal linking Lutheran history with the Salzburgers’ arrival in Georgia.
Issued for the Ninth Convention of the United Lutheran Church in America in Savannah, this two-sided medal also commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Salzburgers’ landing in 1734. The church is the issuing organization; no maker’s mark was found, and the manufacturer is unidentified.
Detailed relief scenes feature religious figures, an emigrant family, and a sailing ship, framed by English and German inscriptions. One side references the Salzburg emigration of 1732; the other records the landing anniversary, 1734–1934.
