Description

This vintage Brutalist Modernist bracelet is an exceptional example of studio jewelry by Anne Dick, a highly regarded mid-century metalsmith known for her hand-wrought sculptural designs. Crafted in the 1950s–1970s, the bracelet features distinctive oval hammered disc links forged in a combination of white, yellow, and red-toned metals, creating a rich, organic rhythm across the wrist.

Each segment is connected by Anne Dick’s unmistakable ball-and-U links, a construction method unique to her workshop and one of the hallmarks that helps identify her unsigned work. The bracelet closes with a hand-wrought double hook, completing the piece’s expressive, tactile character.

Beloved by collectors of Modernist jewelry, Anne Dick’s work also holds cultural interest: she was married to author Philip K. Dick, whose science fiction novels inspired “Blade Runner” and “The Man in the High Castle.” Her jewelry, however, stands entirely on its own—bold, inventive, and instantly recognizable.

Lightly patinated and beautifully preserved, this bracelet is a striking example of mid-century American studio art jewelry.
