Description
Antique Double Circle Victorian Brooch with Paste Stones
The symbol of togetherness, the double circle meant joint forever. This is a great example of this style, each circle is finished with little metal beads. The center bar is set with glass paste stones or old rhinestones. I suspect only one is original, the rose-cut imitation garnet. The center clear stone and one of the red stones appear to be older versions of rhinestones since they are foiled.
The brooch closes with the simple c clasp, which does not have a safety, and stays securely on.
The overall measurements of this beautiful brooch are 1 3/8″ by 15/16″. It is gold-filled and weighs approximately 6.7 grams. It is in excellent condition overall. There are no maker marks. Carefully tested.
