An unusual antique mother-of-pearl and silk necessaire purse from the Art Nouveau era, beautifully made with scalloped shell panels, vivid blue silk, rope handles, and a silk tassel.

This delicate small purse has a wonderfully sculptural form, with two iridescent champagne mother-of-pearl shell panels framing a soft blue silk pouch. The shell shows soft pink and blue iridescence in a natural wave pattern, creating a beautiful contrast against the vivid silk body. The gusseted sides and accordion-folded base give the purse structure, while the pull-string closure, double silk rope handles, and tassel keep the piece charming and functional.
