Authentic Antique Victorian Reversible Book Chain and Locket Necklace in Gold Filled
A rare classic Victorian style book chain necklace featuring a double sided chain and removable locket. You can change the pendant and wear it as a different necklace including wearing a bar pin or another brooch to hold the chain ends together.
The chain links look like books, hence the name “book chain”. They are individually hand fabricated, not cast, and engraved with a stacked triangles on one side and an abstract geometric pattern on the other. The chain 1/4″ wide and 18″ long. The clasp functions as the locket bail.
The locket looks unused, it holds two photos, one on each side. Each cover is hand engraved with a different botanical pattern. It still has the original glass and paper insert. It is oval and measures 1.25″ tall not including ring and bail, by 7/8″ wide and 5/16″ deep. It opens and closes well, stays securely closed.
In excellent, near mint condition with light surface wear consistent with age. Considering it is 140 years old, it is minty!

- Returns are gladly accepted for store credit when you notify us within 7 days of order delivery. Returned items must be unworn, undamaged, and unaltered.
- Electronic store credits are issued to your account with PreAdored® and do not expire. Shipping charges are not credited. There are no refunds.
- Items which were discounted by any means or altered (as in the case of sized rings) are Final Sale and cannot be returned.
- If there is loss or damage in transit please let us know right away so we can assist with the insurance claim. The insurance coverage ends 7 days after delivery, so please don’t wait.
- If you need to return an item, please visit our self-service Returns Center for the RMA number. Returns sent without an RMA Number will be refused. We will respond quickly with instructions.
- We regret that we cannot cancel orders that have been shipped. Unshipped orders will incur a 15% restocking fee.
