Description
This gorgeous antique Art Deco clutch is in excellent condition. It is made of soft and supple black suede, adorned with a sterling silver and marcasite clasp and tab. It is truly a purse for dancing. It has a strap in the back. You slip your palm through it and hold on to your partner’s shoulder.
It is lined in black silk satin. There is a clasped center pouch and two flat pockets, one on each side. The side pockets are trimmed in silver leather. It is extremely well made.
The suede is in good condition. There are no cuts and no damage. The black is not as intense as modern dyes, the color is closer to a very dark espresso coffee. Please don’t expect contemporary black dye color.
This rare clutch measures 6″ wide at the clasp and 8″ wide at the bottom and has a maximum depth of 1.5″.
It is in excellent condition, considering it is likely from the 1930s, if not older. There is no maker’s mark, only 925.
