Description
A very rare and unique pendant, carved from White Jadeite Jade and set in 14k Yellow Gold. The carving dates from the Edwardian to the Art Deco era and it was originally designed as a cigar or cigarette holder. This one was never used. It was quite the popular souvenir for ex-pats living in China at the time.
The entire surface is covered with carvings of fish and algae, with a soft light celadon green color and a few small areas of deeper green. It is quite difficult to photograph. It has a small area of red Jade.
The top and bottom are both custom made of solid 14k Yellow Gold. The bottom is finished with three flat charms.
Overall approximate measurement is 2 7/8″ long from the top of the bail to the tip of the center charm. It is approximately 5/8″ at the widest point.
Approximate total weight is 22.3 gram.
In excellent condition. Marked 14k/585 on the bail. It is likely the setting was made slightly later.
