Description
Lot of Twelve Assorted Serling Silver Handles, Coin Silver, and Silverplate – All Antique or Vintage
A nice assortment in a lot, ranging from the Victorian ladle with mother-of-pearl handle and silver cap to a nail file by Gorham with a sterling silver handle. The small espresso spoon is by Meridien, marked Meridien Brita Co.
The spoon’s bowl is engraved with a dedication and dated August 22, 99, for the year 1899.
The large soup spoon has a hammered sterling handle.
Two of the three butter knives are marked sterling on the handles.
The very old meat forks are not marked. They could have plated handles.
The baby spoon is silver tone, marked 1884 Rogers.
The tiny ladle is unmarked and has a Danish style.
The small souvenir spoon has a very curious handle of a man running with a larger hand holding his hand, placed at the end of the twisted handle. The bowl appears to be a coin and reads Antwerpen—likely 800 or 900 silver.
None of these pieces were acid tested because that would damage them by removing either the patina or the plate, leaving a mark.
