This Metropolitan Museum Of Art gold tone Lion Head brooch can be worn as a pendant. It has a hidden bail built-in.
According to the paper insert, it is called Lion-Head, Achaemenian in origin. It is a wonderful rendition of a roaring lion.
This beautiful brooch can be worn as a pendant. There is a hidden bail on the reverse. It will accommodate a chain or cord up to 4 mm in diameter.
It is marked MMA 1991.
Box and paper insert describing the piece are included.
The brooch measures 2 1/4 inches wide by 2 inches tall.
The original box and pamphlet detailing the Persian origin of the design are included.
The brooch is in excellent condition. The box shows signs of age.
It is the perfect gift for someone in the sign of Leo, born between July 23 to Aug 22.

- Returns are gladly accepted for store credit when you notify us within 7 days of order delivery. Returned items must be unworn, undamaged, and unaltered.
- Electronic store credits are issued to your account with PreAdored® and do not expire. Shipping charges are not credited. There are no refunds.
- Items which were discounted by any means or altered (as in the case of sized rings) are Final Sale and cannot be returned.
- If there is loss or damage in transit please let us know right away so we can assist with the insurance claim. The insurance coverage ends 7 days after delivery, so please don’t wait.
- If you need to return an item, please visit our self-service Returns Center for the RMA number. Returns sent without an RMA Number will be refused. We will respond quickly with instructions.
- We regret that we cannot cancel orders that have been shipped. Unshipped orders will incur a 15% restocking fee.
