Mexican Metales Casados Mixed Metals Hand Carved Green Stone Mask Pendant Necklace Vintage 1950s
This Mexican artisan studio-made vintage necklace features a massive mask pendant.
The figure’s face is a hand-carved stone sometimes called Mexican Jade. I believe it is a form of green agate native to Mexico.
The headdress is made of brass and copper, with handmade metal drops all around.
The pendant is nearly 4 inches wide and 2 3/4 of an inch tall. With the tassels included it is 4 inches tall at the center of the pendant.
The 25 inches long chain features oval silver tone links and round bead stations, cut from the same stone as the cabochon face.
This necklace does not have a clasp. It simply slips over the head.
It weighs 3 1/2 ounces.
The condition is excellent, with no damage, and a light patina consistent with age. There is one tiny bit of solder on the front strap that goes across the carved cabochon. This is from manufacturing and not damage.
