Vintage Monies Black White Shell Bib Necklace
This stunning dramatic Gerda Lynggaard vintage Monies black white shell bib necklace is made of custom cut beads of white mother of pearl and black shell. The clasp is custom-carved from a horn. There is no metal used at all.
Gerda Lynggaard would have all the design components of her jewelry custom-crafted in Africa and other exotic locations. The clasp is likely from Africa but the beads might be from the Pacific Islands. The result is organic and very sophisticated. This particular necklace makes great use of the dramatic contrast of its natural elements.
The striking geometric design wraps beautifully around the neck. It is composed of individual segments in increasing length cut to form a perfect fit.
The necklace center is 2″ wide and tapers towards the clasp.
The wearable length is 17″. It is in excellent vintage condition and dates from the 1980s.

- Returns are gladly accepted for store credit when you notify us within 7 days of order delivery. Returned items must be unworn, undamaged, and unaltered.
- Electronic store credits are issued to your account with PreAdored® and do not expire. Shipping charges are not credited. There are no refunds.
- Items which were discounted by any means or altered (as in the case of sized rings) are Final Sale and cannot be returned.
- If there is loss or damage in transit please let us know right away so we can assist with the insurance claim. The insurance coverage ends 7 days after delivery, so please don’t wait.
- If you need to return an item, please visit our self-service Returns Center for the RMA number. Returns sent without an RMA Number will be refused. We will respond quickly with instructions.
- We regret that we cannot cancel orders that have been shipped. Unshipped orders will incur a 15% restocking fee.
