Description
This is a gorgeous pair of Art Deco cufflinks made in Sterling Silver. They are set with two fairly large red Cinnabar-like rounds, each with such a gorgeous design.
The image is wonderful, a farmer holding sheaves of wheat and a scythe, looking at the fruits of his labor. The scene is raised from the background and framed by gilded accents. This beautiful image reminds me of Diego Rivera’s work. Each image is embossed with 1921.
Each Cinnabar round is bezel set with pinches coinciding with the pattern of the gilded frame. The cufflinks are signed KE and stamped Handmade Sterling.
Cufflinks are 1 1/8″ in diameter and the fronts are 6mm deep.
Please note color is not as bright as it may appear on your device.
In good condition, there is no real damage to the rounds but one is highly polished and one is not. The matte side has a slightly darker color. The articulated backs work well. Estimated to date from the 1920’s.
