Description
Antique Victorian Gypsy Ring in Gold Filled Set with Faux Garnets
This is a great example of a Victorian garnet gypsy ring, a style that has remained a favorite through the centuries. In a gypsy setting, the stones are set flush with the band and are often graduated in size with the largest one in the middle. It is extremely comfortable to wear. The stones are set in place in a technique called beading, where a tiny bit of the shank is cut and turned towards the stone.
This ring is size 7.5 US. It should not be sized because it is gold-filled. It is in very good condition considering it was made in the late 1800s. There is a bit of wear to the edges of the shank in the back that isn’t noticeable or uncomfortable when worn. The stones are garnet simulants, probably Czech glass.
This is a truly unisex ring, anyone can wear it and wear it well!
