Description

This vintage Pauline Rader brooch features a beautifully sculpted swallow in flight, adorned with turquoise and ruby-colored glass orbs and pavé accents. Though the oval metal tag on the reverse is difficult to read, the piece bears Rader’s unmistakable aesthetic—bold color, sculptural lines, and dramatic presence. Dating to the 1960s, it represents the designer’s signature mix of whimsical motifs and statement-scale artistry.

The brooch is in excellent condition, retaining all of its original stones and showing virtually no wear. The color combination—deep ruby red paired with bright turquoise blue—is especially striking and less commonly seen, giving this piece strong collector appeal.

Finished in rich gold plating, the swallow’s wings and body are shaped with movement and dimension, lending the piece a dynamic, expressive silhouette.
