Vintage Deco Eyes “Terri-2” OOAK Mannequin Head – Signed & Dated – Mid-Century Modern Display Sculpture
This rare Decoeyes mannequin head, model “Terri-2,” is an early and highly collectible work by artists Jerry and Susie Landweller. Entirely handmade and expressly one of a kind, this sculptural display piece reflects the bold elegance and playful modernism that defined Decoeyes creations.
Terri is among the earliest Decoeyes models and is especially notable for being the first design to feature sculpted earlobes—a direct response to repeated requests from collectors who wished to display clip earrings. Adding ears required significant modification to the original mold, and it is believed that very few Terri models were ever produced as a result. This makes the Terri-2 not only visually striking, but historically important within the Decoeyes body of work.
The mannequin presents with strong mid-century character and expressive form. The surface remains in excellent condition overall, with only two tiny white spots on the head and a small spot at the back of the neck, all consistent with age and hand-crafted production. There are no repairs or structural damage.
Each Decoeyes mannequin was individually hallmarked, signed, and dated, and no two were ever made alike. This piece stands as both a functional jewelry display and an independent sculptural artwork. Collectors often note the warmth and personality present in the Landwellers’ work—an extension of the artists themselves. Jerry Landweller passed away in 2016, making surviving examples increasingly treasured.
