p>A large vintage sterling silver fish skeleton pendant measuring approximately 2 3/4 inches overall. Its dimensional head, curved ribs, linear spine, and crescent-shaped tail create a graphic Modernist design with a slightly Brutalist edge.
The pendant is constructed from two main elements: a detailed cast head and a fabricated skeletal body. A single articulated connection joins them, allowing the entire body to swing beneath the head as one structure. The ribs and tail are fixed to the central spine and do not move independently.
Darkened recesses emphasize the eye, mouth, and textured surfaces of the head. The open skeletal construction keeps the pendant relatively light at approximately 7.8 grams despite its dramatic length.
The bail is marked “Sterling,” and the metal has been carefully tested to verify its silver content. No maker’s mark was found.
Excellent vintage condition. The single articulated joint moves properly, and the fabricated body, ribs, and crescent-shaped tail are complete. No dents, breaks, or repairs were found. The silver retains an aged patina with darkened recessed details.
