Exceptional handwork defines this substantial sterling silver bracelet, from its square woven chains to its garnet-set scrollwork centerpiece.
Each chain is individually handwoven with a square cross-section, creating a dense, supple band with crisply defined edges. The curved centerpiece follows the wrist comfortably, framing an east-west oval garnet in a bezel amid flowing, dimensional scrolls. Darkened recesses bring depth to the intricate silverwork.
The custom box clasp is decorated on both sides, extending the craftsmanship around the wrist. At 58.9 grams, the bracelet has a substantial presence.
Attributed to Bali, circa 1990s. Marked 925 and tested sterling silver; garnet electronically tested. No maker’s mark.
The garnet is undamaged and secure. The clasp works well; check its tension periodically. A jeweler can add a safety chain for extra security.
