A substantial vintage sterling silver Catholic protection medal, framed in red, white and blue enamel.
The inscription “Air, Land, Sea—Protect Us” surrounds three devotional images: the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, and St. Christopher carrying the Christ Child.
The reverse depicts the Virgin Mary in a devotional stance, a Guardian Angel with a child, and the symbolic reverse of the Miraculous Medal, with its cross, letter M, two hearts and surrounding stars. This combination brings several devotional traditions together in one richly detailed pendant.
Marked Sterling on the reverse, with no maker’s mark. The exact date of manufacture is unknown.
