A striking vintage 1980s statement necklace featuring large translucent cherry amber-colored beads with beautiful depth, glow, and presence. Created during the resurgence of interest in Bakelite jewelry collecting in the 1980s, this substantial strand captures the sought-after cherry amber aesthetic in a more affordable material.
The necklace is composed of forty large round beads individually knotted on cotton cord with garnet-colored glass spacer rondelles between each bead. The professional knotting allows the strand to drape gracefully while helping protect the beads from contact with one another.
The strand closes with a gold-plated spring ring clasp and remains in excellent vintage condition. The cord is in good condition. The slight spacing visible when the necklace is held straight is intentional and allows the necklace to hang properly when worn.
