A bold vintage celluloid chain necklace featuring oversized faux tortoise links in a dramatic open-link design. Dating from the Art Deco to early Retro era, this tested celluloid necklace has wonderful scale, warm translucent color, and excellent vintage condition.
The necklace is composed of alternating round and elongated oval links in rich tortoise-shell tones. The celluloid shows beautiful depth and color variation throughout, creating a striking statement while remaining lighter and easier to wear than its substantial scale suggests.
The chain is finished with an S-shaped celluloid connector and has no clasp, slipping easily over the head at 30 inches long. The necklace remains in excellent condition with strong color, intact links, and impressive visual presence.
