Description
Beautiful antique Victorian gold ring set with an oval Garnet color (glass) stone at the center and a single mine cut Diamond at the Cardinal points. It is not uncommon for solid gold rings of Victorian times to be set with genuine Diamonds and a faux colored stone.
Beautifully made, the setting measures 12mm by 10mm. The setting has split shoulders, carved with milgrain accents. All stones are prong set.
Ring size is 6.75 US, can be sized.
Maker’s mark can be found inside the shank. The symbol is composed of two crossed hammers. Hand engraved initials can also be seen although too faint to be legible. No quality mark, carefully tested, solid 10k gold.
This beautiful antique ring is in excellent condition, estimated to date from the 1880’s. Very light wear consistent with age, no damage to the stones. A perfect ring for those born in January!
