Description
A very pretty engraved case, beautiful dial, and original engraved watch band make this vintage Enicar ladies’ watch a great example of 1920s wrist watches.
The case bezel is engraved on the top and sides. The case is made by Gotham and Chrome plated. White metals were very popular at the time.
Case measures 1″ wide, not including the crown, by 1 3/16″ across the wire lugs.
The bracelet band fits wrists up to 7 1/2″. It adjusts by clasping one end onto the opposite side of the band. Releases by pinching the clasp on its width. Very ingenious design!
The silver dial has toning, very legible, angled Arabic numbers in true Art Deco fashion. The Center is engraved in a starburst or flower pattern. It has some toning, and it is likely Sterling Silver. All numbers are present.
Crystal is in very good condition, with a small line at 7 o’clock to the side, not the face. Does not impede reading.
The manual movement requires winding. Swiss made 6 jewels, and 2 adjustments. Movement is also marked Enicar and Alprosawco.
This Art Deco Era ladies Enicar watch is about 100 years old, runs, and keeps usable time, but it has not been fully serviced. We cannot guarantee it will continue to run. It can be worn with no issues.
There is some darkening on the dial (probably Silver) and loss on the plating on the back of the case.
