Description
Arts and Crafts Era antique amphor brooch made using the repousse and hammering techniques on bronzed mixed metals (copper and brass), textured, and accented by turquoise patination in the recessed areas of the background.
The overall surface has a beautiful gingerbread finish. The amphor is a bit warmer than the background and likely made of stamped copper.
The brooch is rectangular. It measures approximately 2 5/8 of an inch by 1 3/4 of an inch by 3/8 of an inch deep at the center.
It closes with a simple C clasp. This mixed metals antique brooch is in excellent condition. It is estimated to date from the early 1900s and is unsigned.
The green patina is by design and should not be removed.
