Description
Presenting a vintage MMA Egyptian Revival Eye of Horus necklace in yellow gold filled adorned with white and dark blue enamel.
The Eye of Horus symbol at the center is guarded by the vulture and snake deities.
This necklace was made for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The necklace measures 15 3/4 inches long. The pendant is built into the oval link chain and measures 27 mm wide by 15 mm tall overall.
In very good condition, estimated to date from the 1970s during the Jewels of Tutankhamun exhibit which reignited interest in Ancient Egypt.
The pendant is marked with the copyright symbol, MMA, and 1976. The chain is marked MMA 1/20 12k near the clasp.
This is a scarce, if not rare, MMA necklace. It is delicate too and will look great by itself or on a necklace stack.
