Description
Antique Peridot, Rose Cut Diamonds, and Natural Pearl Brooch Pin in 14k White Gold, dates from the Edwardian to Art Deco Era, circa 1910s to 1920s.
This beautiful little gem of a brooch measures 30mm or 1 3/16 of an inch wide by 21mm or 13/16 of an inch at the tallest point.
Set with a natural green peridot gem, faceted oval cut, measuring approximately 11mm by 9mm by 6mm. The estimated carat weight is 4 carats.
It is set with four natural (not cultured) perfectly round white pearls, each approximately 2mm in diameter. Each pearl is at the center of a quatrefoil, and each petal is set with a tiny rose cut diamond. There are a total of 28 diamonds, ranging in size from 1 to 2mm in diameter.
The peridot setting and the clasp are 14k yellow gold, which is typical of the period this brooch was made. Diamonds were set in white gold or platinum, colored gemstones were set in yellow gold.
The clasp works well and has a lock mechanism. There are two marks on the side of the hook portion of the clasp but unfortunately, they are not legible. The workmanship is incredible and the materials quality are outstanding.
The total approximate weight of this darling gem of a pin is 6.09 grams. It was carefully tested to verify the content. It is in pristine condition.
