Beautiful antique Columbia gold pocket watch with manual wind movement in a lovely hand engraved and machine-turned gold filled hunter case.
Measuring 2 and 1/4 inches, including the bow, it is 1 and 5/8 inches wide and 1/2 inches deep at the center. It is likely a size 3S.
The open face case is gold filled, marked “Guaranteed 10 years” for 10k gold filled. It is in outstanding condition. Beautifully carved, hand engraved, and machine-turned on both outside covers. The cartouche on one side is blank, and you can have initials engraved. The other is engraved with a tiny homestead with a tree line in the background.
The crystal is in very good condition.
The white enameled dial has sunken seconds and Roman numeral markers in black. There is no damage, no cracks, or lost enamel.
The movement is beautiful, machine-turned and hand-engraved. It reads ” Columbia, USA, AG192922″. The last is the serial number, which dates the watch to the late 1890s.
This is a relatively heavy watch at 53.3 grams.
This antique pocket watch needs maintenance. It does not function. It has not been serviced in the last few years. All our watches are sold as found.
