This phenomenal lot includes 20 (twenty) different single cuff or collar buttons dating from the late 1800s Victorian Era. The quality is excellent, and the assortment is incredible.
Most are heavy gold filled. Materials include:
all metal (3 GF and 1 a silver tone metal pentagon with the initials KMCAO),
hand carved mother of pearl shell (3),
dalmatian jasper (1),
brown speckled jasper (1),
banded agate (2),
Moonstone donut inset in gold filled (1),
simulant garnet, turquoise, pearl, and diamond (3),
milk glass with flower and leaf intaglios (2),
textured milk glass (1),
dark amethyst glass (1)
and last but not least, simulant Carnelian Greco-Roman soldier intaglio with selenite stone on the opposite side.
The condition overall is very good, with light signs of age and occasional loss of plating.
Size ranges from 15mm for the inset moonstone square button to 24mm for the huge amethyst glass one.
The approximate total weight for this lot is 87 grams.
A fantastic lot for the collector and an incredible group for jewelry making and repurposing. These would make the most unusual rings.
