Description
This excellent antique Victorian collar buttons and cufflinks lot includes:
Two complete cufflink pairs. One is all gold filled, repousse style with elaborate design and all metal measuring 3/4″ at the longest side. The other is round and set with a beautiful example of dendritic agate, natural. Each flat round cabochon has a slightly different pattern and a carved geometric frame. They are 20mm in diameter.
One set of three twist buttons in the original card. They are gold filled, shaped as a daisy, with a machine-turned circular design on the front, and are 5/16″ in diameter. The back looks like a corkscrew, very unusual and very old. They are unworn.
Four square-shaped unique buttons without match. They are gorgeous, hand engraved. One has two different depths and is set with one pearl, two garnets, and one turquoise simulant stone. They measure from 15mm to 18.5mm wide.
Three round buttons without matches. One is set with a black onyx round cabochon and is the largest at 17mm. The mid-sized one has a beautiful elaborate design and is gold filled. The smallest of all is lovely and has a hand-engraved design, about 12mm in diameter.
This lot weighs approximately 37 grams.
A fantastic lot for the collector and an incredible group for jewelry making and repurposing. These would make the most unusual rings.
