Vintage Massive Maltese Cross Purple Sapphire Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace – Bold and Beautiful
This is a truly impressive vintage Maltese or Jerusalem cross necklace with an incredibly beautiful hand made snake chain. Pendant is set with a huge purple sapphire.
The pendant alone measures 3″ tall by 2 1/8″ wide. It is beautifully detailed front and back. The front is adorned with florets and dots in a style called canetile. The back is engraved with flowers and birds at each arm of the cross.It is entirely made by hand. The center of the cross is set with a 13MM (about 1/2″) purple sapphire. The pendant is marked 950 with a higher content of fine silver than sterling.
The chain is outstanding in design and craftsmanship. Designed as a byzantine chain, it drapes like a snake chain with tightly woven links. It measures 4MM in diameter and is 16.25″ long.
The overall gross weight of this fantastic necklace is 62.5 grams, over 2 ounces. The sapphire is lab created.
The condition is excellent with a light patina that enhances every minute detail.

- Returns are gladly accepted for store credit when you notify us within 7 days of order delivery. Returned items must be unworn, undamaged, and unaltered.
- Electronic store credits are issued to your account with PreAdored® and do not expire. Shipping charges are not credited. There are no refunds.
- Items which were discounted by any means or altered (as in the case of sized rings) are Final Sale and cannot be returned.
- If there is loss or damage in transit please let us know right away so we can assist with the insurance claim. The insurance coverage ends 7 days after delivery, so please don’t wait.
- If you need to return an item, please visit our self-service Returns Center for the RMA number. Returns sent without an RMA Number will be refused. We will respond quickly with instructions.
- We regret that we cannot cancel orders that have been shipped. Unshipped orders will incur a 15% restocking fee.
