Antique Victorian Gilded Metal Jewelry Box Signed “J B”
It’s a very cute box. It still has the original lining inside, which is rare. Generally, time destroys the rich silk lining. The lining is a soft light blue, the fabric padded with natural cotton underneath.
The hinge is in good shape. The gold finish has worn off a bit on high points, which is consistent with age. It is over 100 years old, dating from the late 1890s.
Made of cast metal with a soft matte gilded finish, it measures 4″ wide, 2 1/4″ deep, and 2 1/2″ tall. It weighs 7 oz.

- Returns are gladly accepted for store credit when you notify us within 7 days of order delivery. Returned items must be unworn, undamaged, and unaltered.
- Electronic store credits are issued to your account with PreAdored® and do not expire. Shipping charges are not credited. There are no refunds.
- Items which were discounted by any means or altered (as in the case of sized rings) are Final Sale and cannot be returned.
- If there is loss or damage in transit please let us know right away so we can assist with the insurance claim. The insurance coverage ends 7 days after delivery, so please don’t wait.
- If you need to return an item, please visit our self-service Returns Center for the RMA number. Returns sent without an RMA Number will be refused. We will respond quickly with instructions.
- We regret that we cannot cancel orders that have been shipped. Unshipped orders will incur a 15% restocking fee.
